A FB challenge card

This weekend I had the chance to sit down and make a card just for the fun of it, well it was for a challange but I wasnt forced to do it lol

I am part of a fab facebook group called The Craft Cuboard Show and Tell, its a group for people who love to craft and show off their makes as well as chat about all things crafty and a few other things in between.

We have some lovely admin who create fun challenges with some fab prizes. This Challenge was created by Stella, its a sketch challenge here s the card that I made for the sketch.

The stamp was a freebie from Simply Homade magazine and I LOVE it, the sentiments are hand stamped with individual alphabet stamps, flowers are papermania and the brads, the papers are DCWV I think but will have to check I love them and could hardly bear to use them! I used a distressing tool around the edge of the papers and then did faux stiching around the edge of the papers.

I must get off here and go do some sewing, easter will soon be here and I have lots of things I want to make!

CYDA Challenge - Distress

I cannot believe we are into our second challenge of the year at craft your days away!

Here is my take on this theme which I found a tiny bit difficult but think I achieved a good distressed edge look to my card.

The beautiful digi image is just one of the silhouettes range from Bugaboo

its gorgeous to work with.

I used a distressing tool on the edges but a pair of scissors work just as well. I used my nesties, the papers are paper mania the gems and ribbon are from my stash.

New Beginings at Craft Your Days Away.

A new year means new beginnings for so many of us, so with this in mind the theme for this fortnights challenge over at Craft Your days Away is New Beginnings.

Happy New Year - 2011 round up

Well its the end of another year, it has been a pretty amazing one for me. As I look back I am pretty chuffed at the opportunities that have arisen which have enabled me to show off the craft that I love to do.

I began selling some of my makes both cards and sewn items, I took some of these goodies to a fab little shop called Tenderfoot and some of them sold!

I became a paper craft tester for Paper Craft Inspirations magazine.

I set up a facebook page for all my crafty makes to show and sell. I have received some lovely comments via there and have some amazing 'likers'

I was given the opportunity to work with some great people too, like: Little Musings, Duck Pond Crafts and the wonderful dt teams that I am part of Sparkles forum challenges and Craft your days Away.

I made my own tutorials and popped them up here on my blog, they were also featured on craft gossip which is brilliant!

I have met some wonderful people in blog land and on facebook who have been totally encouraging which really has set me up for next year and all that it may bring. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has read my blog, posted messages or emailed me I appreciate everyone of you.

So with 2011 left behind and heading into 2012

What we've been up to and advent goodies

So Christmas day is nearly upon us and we have been busy not just with preparations but with the charity we are part of Special Friends. The charity is for disabled children and their families, we do lots of activities throughout out the year together and this is a little snippet of us out and about this Christmas.

Visiting Santa at Cattle country, the children had a train ride to the grotto where Santa was waiting with a gift for each child then a train ride back and a play in the soft play.

Then we had a trip to Clearwell Caves over in Wales, well worth a visit for Christmas if you can get there it was magical! We followed the story of the Hungry Polar Bear through the Christmas lit caverns on route we bumped into Santa again, we stopped at his toy store to choose a present.

Here is part of the story we followed through the caverns, the hungry polar bear.

Oh and in the middle of the caves there is a little underground market and snack bar for food and goodies, I picked up some lovely tree decorations and a spotty bowl which is now in my kitchen.

Then we went ice skating at the open air ice rink at the mall, it was a early morning skate we were there from 9am, it was lovely. My 2 sons gave up after one lap of the ice rink, where as my daughter pictured here was hard to get off the ice she loved it and is a very determined little skater.

Today we went off to Avon Valley Farm Park for a play in the soft play and one last meet up with Santa before he is off to do the most important job of the year. We have also had our big Christmas party which was lovely and we shall be off enjoying more days out after Christmas which the kids cant wait for.

Catching up with Advent again

There isnt much creating going on here just lots of days out enjoying the festivites and getting ready for the big day this weekend. So today I thought it was time I caught up with my gorgeous

This week has been the busiest week so far but the kids have now finished school and the christmas fun can begin! So I may actually get time to post a bit more on the lovely advent swap goodies I have been opening each day from the lovely Dawn.

Craft Your days Away - Snowmen

Advent Swap update

The first post of today from me. I thought I had updated my blog with details of my gorgeous goodies from my Advent swap partner Dawn but seems I spent too much time looking for the chocolate that some one had hidden then ate it before I took a photo tut tut! So here are my gorgeous goodies from days 1- 10 minus the said chocolate that is now in my tummy and scrumptious it was indeed!

I havent had time to burn my advent candle just yet but will get around to that this weekend. I ADORE the mug cosy and have been wanting one for ages will be taking that out with me on our family outings in the cold.

I promise to keep my advent swap more up to date now, the goodies are all under the tree waiting to be unwrapped, the kids get as excited as me each day wondering what will be in the little parcels

Advent 1st day of the swap

Its December yipeeee I have had my gorgeous parcel of goodies from my Advent swap partner

I have been waiting to get started,

I think I have been more excited than the kids with the chocccy calenders.

here is a piccy of my parcel full of goodies all wrapped up

Soooo very tempting to unwrap them all!!!

Each item is beautifully wrapped in chrimbo themed paper gorgeous colour combo and instead fo a tag Dawn has used beads for the numbers, who good is that!

I am collecting them as I go as I know they will come in useful.

Today's gift to start me off was a lovely advent candle, I have never had one of these before so this will be a first it will be lit this evening.

Busy week ahead

Today I am off to the post office with some lovely gifts that people have ordered plus this special parcel that is off to my Advent swap partner Dawn

It took an age to wrap all the little gifts but looked so lovely in the box ready to send, I am hoping Dawn likes what I have wrapped for her.

Tutorial - Image on Candles

A lot of people ask me how I do my candles and last year a did a tutorial for a forum so this year I thought I would share it here with you so you can get a idea of how its done.

There are however lots of tutes on Utube that may be of help. Also practising first helps you find your way of doing it successfully.

You will need

Heat Gun
Grease proof Paper
Tissue Paper the same colour as your candle
pro markers
ink to stamp your image
a stamp of your choice
scissors

Stamp your image on to your tissue paper carefully and then colour with your pro markers very carefully

Next cut around your image leaving a tiny edge around it.

Next place your image onto the candle in the specific place that you want it, usually if you gently rub over it the image will stay in place by itself.

next place the grease proof paper over the top place your fingers on the image to keep it in place as you are wrapping the grease proof paper around. you will need a large piece of grease proof paper so that you can grab it on the other side and hold. tight.

I slide my fingers down both sides making sure that the image is nice and flat and in the right place then grab the grease proof paper on the other side

See how the image is flat agains the candle and how I am holding the paper tight.

Now using you heat gun start heating the image through the paper, do not stay in the same spot I work in small circular movements from one side to the other making sure I get all the image do not go too close to the candle as the heat will intensify.

You will see a change happening under the paper as the wax melts keep moving dont stay in the same spot, its almost like little droplets of water coming through the paper. The whole process is no longer than a minute depending on the size of candle you are using.

Once I am sure my image is in place I always roll it on the table so that it evens it all out.

Then I gently peel away the grease proof paper

There will be little bits of melted wax on the candle but these can either be smoothed out by using your finger or gently brushed off.

And here is the end result once you have made your finishing touches

You can also use rub ons to decorate candles or decorated vellum but obviouslly with vellum it must be removed before burning and you MUST put a warning on candles about how to use them safely. You can also use gems to decorate and ribbon to pretty it up a bit.

CYDA Challenge - Button Or Bow

Its a new challenge over at craft your days away and this fortnight the theme was chosen by me.

The theme I have chosen is BUTTONS OR BOW or both if you like as long as it has either on then you will be included in the draw for a fabby prize from

Emmas Crafty Store.

So for this challenge I knew I had to add a button or a bow but I have been wanting to have ago at heat embossing for ages and I bought a gorgeous stamp the other day and thought it would be good to have ago with it. I used gold embossing powder and my heat gun. I stamped the image onto some velum some thing I haven't done before I love the way it looks I am totally impressed with heat embossing and think I will be doing it alot from now on!

Right Off to carry on with other things that need doing, I am sure you are all busy with Christmas preparations!

Robbie the Robin christmas decoration tutorial

I thought I would share a really easy Christmas decoration with you that you can make either on your own or with your children. It takes about 20 minutes and really is a simple make.

Here is Robbie

Click on the template then right click and save to your computer then resize to your preferred size robin and print off.

You will need :

The template or make one of your own.
Brown Felt or colour of your choice depending on what you would like your robbin to look like
Fabric for his tummy I have chosen red polka dot you could also use red felt
Thread in the colours you would like I have used brown for around the outer edge and white for securing his tummy and for the white dot in his eye.
Ribbon
Stuffing you dont need anything fancy even scraps of felt or fabric will do the job nicely.
Sewing kit, scissors, needles, pins etc

How to make:

1. Using the template cut out all the pieces you will need it should look like thi, you do not have to use fabric as your tummy piece another piece of felt or fabric will work just as well.

2. First of all you will need to sew all the bits and bobs on to one side of the large circles.

So to start off you will need to sew his tummy on, I pinned my tummy to the circle and stitched across the the top securing the tummy in place.

Stich across the top so it looks like this

3. Then sew all the other bits and bobs on here is a piccy of all the bits you need to sew on before you stich your button onto the wing. I used white to stitch the eye in place creating a cute little eye you could use a small button.

Once you have stiched all of your bits and bobs on sew the Button on to the wing, you do not have to do this if you prefer to leave it off.

4. Now take the back piece and starting from just above the eye blanket stitch or running stictch if its easier around the the circle shape of his body remembering to stop once inch from where you started.

5. Then sew in your ribbon

6. next you need to stuff your robbin, you can use stuffing or felt remnants or fabric material anything that will make him a bit puffy.

7. Continue to sew to close the whole and finish off.

8. You should now have some thing that resmbles a little robin to hang on your tree.

The brilliant thing about robbie is you can use different materials or different colour felt to create the same little bird the options are open, you could also make a little garland of robbies :)

CYDA Challenge - Embellishment Bingo

Good morning, we have a new challenge with a difference this fortnight over at Craft Your days Away, its some thing I have never done before!

Its Embellishment Bingo (picture are bottom of post to give idea) I love a challenge but I think I was given too much choice lol but I settled with

Pearls Ribbon and Flowers.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy store its from the christmas digi set well worth the pennies!

Coloured with Pro markers, the papers are both from freebie packs in magazines.

The ribbon is from my stash the flowers are from my never ending Duck Pond Crafts Christmas Blooms Kit, and the pearls are papermania.

So here is how embellishment bingo works, obviously you can nip

on over to the blog and get the full details

all you need to do is pick one line of three embellishments, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The rules are to just use the three embellishments in your chosen line on your craft project which of course dosent have to be a card it can be anything!

Hello everyone on this sunny sunday! We have a new challenge over at sparkles Challenges the theme this fortnight is AUTUMN. I did struggle with what to make to fit this theme then I came across the gorgeous new range called NeighbourWood by By Helz Cuppleditch its part of the woodland friends range.

I dont tend to use decoupage but this was so sweet and the papers arent really my bag either but I love them!

The Card candy is from the lovely Blooms Kit from Duck Pond Crafts Yes I still have loads left!

Morning all, I have another quick make to show off to you today using the fab Blooms kit from

DUCK POND CRAFTS

the blooms kit from october was christmas themed but I had some gorgeous blues in mine and I decided to use them to make a every day card. There were also some wired decorations with beads on the end (like berries) dont even know what their proper name is so we shall go with 'wired decoration' lol I cut the wire and used just half with one berry as the centre of my flower. The twine is from the kit too!

The bloom kits are £11 posted and are full of goodies the next one is due out very soon and has a fabulous theme! There are also Card makers kits that have lots of goodies in to make complete cards.

Duck Pond Delights

This week I am playing catch up which isn't a bad thing as yesterday I had some time to play with the gorgeous Blooms Kit from Duck Pond Crafts. If you check back a couple of posts you will see the fabulous goodies that come in a blooms kit but each month they are very different but still fabulous. This month was christmas themed BUT as you will see in tomorrows post you dont have to use your goodies for christmas makes they can be used for anything!

Ribbon, Flowers which have been layerd, buttons, ribbon and card candy are all from the kit but you get LOADs of each so plenty to make lots of things.

I also made a little gift box card that can be filled with sweets or anything christmasy.

The Snowflakes are chipboard and I have painted them with Acrylic paints and added some fine glitter. The ribbon is from the blooms kit.

Christmas Sewing

This week I have been sorting orders for these little christmas decorations that will be off to their new homes tomorrow, I have called them Holly Tailed Kitties they are very cute and I know they will look lovely on any cat lovers tree this Christmas!

I have also been restocking my Christmas puds, trees and gingerbread men. I love my puds!!!

Right I am off now to carry on with sewing, I am attempting to make a garland this time, I just hope it works the way I have it planned in my mind lol

Sparkles Challenge - Remembrance

Look At This!!!

I just wanted to share a quick post about a gorgeous Kit that has landed on my door mat this week from the lovely Karen

Here is my take on the theme, I dont have much call for halloween type cards

so thought I would make a treat bag.

The halloween papers are from Susans crafty chaos online digi store and are a brilliant set I used them last year and there are so many fabby designs in the set very spooky!

The spider and cobweb are from Tesco, you can buy a pack of them for £1.00 and there are loads of spiders in them and enough cobwebs to make lots of packs! What I've been up to...

This past few weeks I thought I needed to get organised for Christmas, as in the crafting way! I wanted to make sure I have a nice starter supply of goodies to sell and gift.

There are so many gorgeous goodies out there that are handmade, I hope my take on some of the Christmas favourites will be loved too. I have also made some Christmas guinea pigs which I have named holly bottoms, you will see why in a moment lol

Good morning all, today I am so excited to be able to tell you that Little Musings has released some flippin gorgeous Christmas Themed Angels and woweeeeeeeeeee they are gorgeous to work with!

This year as with most years I have struggled to make Christmas cards but this year I have made 3 so far and get this I was singing Christmas carols too, I am defo in a Christmas card making mood!

So to start off with I thought I would show you my first make, Its a easel card using one of the new Angels Roybn

Isn't she gorgeous? I have coloured her with Pro markers, the papers are a freebie from Simply Home made, The gems are from paper mania and I have used glitter on her wings but it doesn't show us too well. And the boarder punch is by Xcut and the little buttons ric rac stc are all from my stash.

It has been 2 whole weeks since I last posted, how bad is that, I dont seem to be getting back into the swing of things at all! Anyhow here we are with another Craft Your Days Away challenge the theme this time is Pink Brown and Blue. As most of you already know we are a multi craft challenge blog so it doesnt have to be just a card.

This fortnight I have made a Tooth Fairy Pillow for my daughter, thank goodness I finished it as the tooth fell out last night, I was greeted at 3am with a huge smile and a missing front tooth, luckily she didnt swallow it!!!!!!! So this evening the tooth will be placed in the pocket of this russian doll pillow so the little fairy doesnt have to search too hard to find it.

I am such a bad bad blogger at the moment I have neglected this blog due to being a tad busy with family life, which I am sure lots of you will understand. I shall be back on top blogging form in September when chaos is over and normality returns!

This fortnight over at CRAFT YOUR DAYS AWAY we have a CUPCAKE theme.........yummy! As you all know we are a multi craft challenge so you can make what ever you please as long as it follows the theme. So with this in mind I had a quiet moment the other day and sat and had a go at making some sewn items with a cupcake theme.

Here is what I came up with.

The cupcake keyring is from a tutorial which I cant find now, there is a printable sheet for you to use as a template HA HA a wonderful blogger has found the template if you search for lisapay(dot)com you can also follow the tute on utube Thanks so much 73mw you are a star You have to check out her blog its fab!! (I made my own template as my printer is out of action at present). The little cupcake pin cushion is a very simple make.

Birthday Time over at Craft Your Days Away

Helllloooooooooooo been a long time since I have posted here in blogland, its a busy time for us as its the summer holidays and we have lots planned with SPECIAL FRIENDS CLUB as well as other things in between so there isnt much time for crafting.

Anyhow I could not miss the very special challenge this fortnight over at Craft Your Days Away, its our Birthday!!!! So we are celebrating in style with a bumper challenge with lots of amazing prizes from

For this challenge I created a Mermaid themed card and gift box card.

Wedding wishes

Its been a busy ol week this week, the children have all now finished school. It has been a tiny bit sad as my daughter has left her school and friends completely to go to another school where her brother is, there were lots of tears but we know its for the best.

This week one of my lovely friends got married and is 40, they got married on her birthday and then had a big bash on the night. I had real trouble trying to make a card that I thought they would like but managed to come up with this one in the end.

But before they got married my friend and I had a chat about wedding hair and accessories, she wanted plain and simple daisies but they had to be the right size. So for the very first time I made wedding hair accessories here is a piccy of the selection, some for her daughter too so they matched. Not a great pic but they were just about to be packed up as I was in a rush!

So its been a little bit of a busy time, as well as these makes I have made teachers gifts and cards, and a birthday candle which I will show soon.

Mermaids and Pirates

My son and daughter had a 'Water' themed day at school last week so they had to dress up and donate £1.00 to school as a fund-raising event for people who have no water in poorer countries. My daughter wanted to be a mermaid and my son a pirate.

I would love to say I made the pirate costume all by myself but it was with a little help from Tesco, I just made the t shirt lol How ever I made the mermaid costume from scratch.

The mermiad tail was maid from a pattern it has wadding inside to keep it nice and plumb I also maid the hair accessory. In this weather I didnt want her to be restricted in a tight fitting tail lol so attaching one seemed a much better idea and she Loved it!

Elegance and Lace witht the sparkles girls

Good morning all, its a very wet sunday morning here booooo..... I hope the sunshine

returns soon to cheer us all up.

Anyhow its a brand sparkly new challenge over at Sparkles Forum Challenges Blog and we have a Elegance and Lace theme this fortnight. So for this challenge I decided to make some thing a little different and opted for a ribbon and lace corsage as they seem to be very popular at the moment.

I have sewn the ribbon first then the lace added some vintage buttons first one is sewn the second is glued so make sure it is extra secure. A brooch back has been sewn on the reverse with felt and glued to keep it in place and to make it look all neat too.

Little musings is Back!

Morning all, are you all waiting for this heat wave that is due to hit us at some point this weekend? Its grey and miserable here and doesnt look like its set to change but we can live in hope.

Craft Your Days Away has another fab challenge and this fortnight we are going vintage! Check out all the other DT's work it is awesome!

I decided to make a tea cup candle, I picked up this set of tea cups saucers and plates for £2.50 in the local charity shop. I cleaned it up and then the candle making commenced.

I made tags using a die and distressed them to give them a vintage look I then stamped and added pearls. Tied with Lace and pearls.

Here is what the candle looks like with out all the wrapping on

Tea cup Tuesday

A late Tea cup tuesday from me this week as I have been out and about today and not had much time to post.

This tea cup is a mini cup it was bought whist browsing the charity shops near here. There were a few others but none as nice as this one.

It is very delicate and has been hand painted.

I do have a thing for blues so this caught my eye straight away, its so pretty on the inside and the out.

On the bottom it reads Minton.

Lifes a beach at sparkles forum challenges

Monochrome over at CYDA

Well havent I been a bad blogger this past week!! I have lots to catch up on too, I have managed to pick up some fab finds in the charity shops and I have also won a fab give away from Quirky Boots blog! All that can wait I need to tell you about this fortnights challenge over at CYDA.

This fortnight we have a monochrome theme, I find these makes hard, normally I would opt for a black and white theme but this time I went for browns and beige. I decided to make a tag this fortnight as I have been getting a little bored with cards. So here she is, will tell you where you can get this digi image from too as its gorgeous!

I have coloured her with pro markers, pearls are from my stash as well as pins, hand sewn around the edges, papers are papermania, tag is just a tag I have distressed the edges with scissors and then some inks. Flowers are flowers lol and the image is a digi stamp from WEE STAMPs a fairly new digi stamp store with the most gorgeous digis that you really must add to your collection!

CYDA Challenge - Fathers Day/ for a male

Morning, yet again I am hoping that this post pops up today as I should be in a field in a tent enjoying a weekend away with

.....From sunny but windy North Devon. It was a great weekend away, packed with lots plus a bit of sleeping too, must have been the sea air as every afternoon my youngest and I fell asleep.

I tried, but failed to mention that last Friday was another fab little musings digi day, mobiles are great when they do as they are told but I just couldnt post so I am going to let you know today.

Sparkles forum Challenge - Metal

Hello I am hoping this post has made it up on blogger successfully

as I am away from my computer in North Devon.

This fortnight we have a Metal theme over at sparkles forum challenges. That doesnt mean your whole card has to have a metal look (you can if you want) it means that we would like to see some thing metal on your card be it a charm brad metalic colours anything with a metal theme.

This fortnight we are sponsored by Di's Digi's and we had some fab images to work with the one I have used 'little rock chick' can be bought from Di's online shop.

So for my card I have popped on a metal ribbon brad which is the only thing I could find that would work with the card I was making lol.

I added some faux sitching, I coloured her with my pro markers,

the papers are from my stash the sentiment is from ummmmmm.... cant think.

Ribbon is from my stash too.

The edges have been distressed with scissors.

More makes for wednesday

So as well as sewing this week I made my first ever candles, I made some little tarts and some tea cup candles. Here is a piccy of the pink one I made there is a green and purple one too.

I didnt realise how easy it was going to be, although I accidentally tipped nearly the whole bottle of scent into the pan *eeekkk* the smell was a bit over powering but once the candle has set its fine.

And then the last bit of sewing, I made these little scotties/wesites

Sewing something special

I used the pampered pets papers from papermania I adore this colour, the sentiment is also papermania I think, pearls are from WHAT and ribbon is from my stash. Clean and simple really but very elegant looking I think.

Little musings - Birthday Boutique- look inside!

Evening all, thank goodness blogger is back I had serious worries that I may never see my blog again!

Anyway I have a little musings to show you and I must admit I love it! The set is called Layered Lillie and she comes pre coloured or in black and white for you to work your magic. The set is just £1.50 and is available to download HERE.

Paper Craft Inspirations magazine, I am in it!

Do you remember some time back I mentioned that I had been selected to be one of the Paper craft testers for Paper Craft Inspirations Magazine? Well my first make is in this months mag, I didnt have time to make one last month, but you were introduced to the Paper Craft Testers

My piccy wasnt the best I really didn't think I would be considered, I am now wishing I asked hubby to take another of me lol. I am on the far right third line down or one up from the bottom.

So on to this months Fab Mag which also includes a great fathers day feature from Little Musings with free downloadable goodies from paper craft inspiration website! A small group of us were asked to create a fathers day card using the FREE templates in the back of the mag, also a preview of the card instructions for inspiration.

Here is my write up and piccy in the mag and below is the card I made.

I was pleased with the end result, its clean and simple and could be used for other things no just a fathers day card.

Todays fab finds - Tenderfoot

Its lovely when you find a shop that not only encourages crafting but also supports the local crafting community. We are lucky to have a fab shop not that far from myself that does this. Its called Tenderfoot, you can not come out empty handed nor can you just pop in for a minute as there are so many fab items to check out you need time. The 2 ladies who run this shop are so friendly which makes a huge difference as some times you can go to this kind of shop and the people behind the till wont utter a word just stare at you as you browse, YUCK!

So what did I buy? well today I bought a pair of gorgeous daisy earings, I have been looking for a pair like this for yonks! Then I bought 2 little signs that will be perfect for my card making and then I spotted some retro wrapping paper so had to have some of that too!

The wrapping paper was only £1.00 a roll!!!

Altered Note Book

Tuesdays catch up and fab finds!

Well this week has started off busy! Hubby decided to repaint the bathroom yesterday, well that meant looking for paint and a new cupboard etc etc so we have been wandering around DIY stores, then my son was home sick yesterday afternoon (all better today) and I have been sewing and making cards in between.

I managed to get a note book finished for a swap too I just hope it has found its new home safely too (pics to follow when I know it has landed!)

So today I have a card to show you and some FABBY FINDS for this week!

This card is made along side the same theme as the one I made for the Sparkles forum challenge and I intend to make some more as I think they are a perfect grown up card!

When I remember what papers I have used I will let you know, the gems are from WHAT I find the stick better than the papermania ones! The sentiment is from papermania I think, there is a set and they are only 75p a sheet which is a mega bargain you can get a male version too!

Right now on to my fabby finds for this week!

Well so far I have only ventured to Matalan so there could be more on the way!!!

First is this lovely cushion it was Half Price

just £6 down from £12 and it was the last one so lucky find!

Now I know some of us are over the Union Jack theme but I am still very much loving it and I love this cushion! It was £5 from £10 and they had a smaller long cushion with a doggy on for the same price but not my cup of tea nor hubbys who said NO lol

And specking of cups of tea this whole range is reduced but I just loved the tea cups and saucers

(had to have my elevenses in it today with a biccy!

all for the price of £3.00 down from £6.00 (each tea cup and saucer set)

Wing'ed things at little musings

Morning, today over at little musings you can get yourself the most gorgeous digi set called 'wing'ed things' the set includes fairies and butterflies and they are all gorgeous, as always they come in black and white for you to colour or Sj has worked her magic and provided them in colour too, so all you have to do is print and go!

So as my daughter loves all things fairy and butterfly I created, I say I but it was a joint effort as Izzy was sat with me during the process, choosing and 'helping' in her little persons way. We made some hair clips and a ring check them out!!!

Afternoon all, I have been out and about today picking up bargains as I go, some of which I am going to show you now! All you kath kidston fans Easy Living Magazine has a free Kath Kidston bag with it plus a Kath K magazine and a 15% of discount code!!!!

I got mine today in tesco here is a picy

Now lets just say the bag isnt huge but its kath kidstons so do we care NO,

there are 2 types to choose from :)

next today is some fabby fabrics, arent they cute!!!

And then a bag of ribbions and bits and bobs for 50p!

And finally a lovely cushion from Wilkinsons for £5.00 with removable cover which is handy!

I also picked up some small metal signs sayin live laugh love for under 4.00 and a gorgeous quilt for a double bed for 5.50 (its in the wash now)

So a rather productive day I think

I was in serious need of a new Sewing machine cover, the blue plastic 'thing' that came with the machine has been bugging me since it arrived, so yesterday and today I set to work making a very simple cover

It is so different to this old grotty plastic bag of a thing!

This is where I got the fab tute from HERE as you will see she has made a reversible one but I just couldn't bear to part with any of my lovely fabrics lol

Happy Tuesday everyone all the children are back to school today, 2 of mine will be off again on Thursday for polling day!!! I often wonder why they still allow schools to be polling stations, surely there are plenty of other places they can use now? especially as they are always saying we cant take children out of school during term time as its disruptive! My children have spent more time out this past month than in!!!

Cute Clips

Morning, its not a very bright Sunday here but I am hoping it will cheer up as we are off to Wales for the day. I am also hoping the roads are clear so we don't get stuck in any traffic, so there will be no crafting today but I have caught up on a few things including these makes and some little musings Angel makes.

Yesterday I had a little play with some felt and made some clips, I am soooo pleased with how they have turned out they are so pretty, my daughter helped me choose which flowers to make and I am pretty sure she is going to love wearing them!

Todays The Day

Morning all, I have been up since silly o clock watching royal wedding footage on tv and its all just brilliant! people are really getting into the spirit of it!

We have the bunting up as you can see, we are probably only one of 4 houses to do so, but just down our road they are having a street party and preparations are in full swing.

Angel Thoughts

Hi all, I am guessing everyone is out enjoying the sunshine here in the uk as its so quiet in blog land at the moment. We have had a very busy half term with visits with the charity Special Friends to places like Diggerland and Farm Parks, its been a real treat!

Right on to today's post, I made this card using one of the New Angel Stamps by sj which I posted about the other day, they are still available so get some quick .

I am torn as to which one of Sj's Angels is my favourite but this one is defo at the top of my list.

Craft Your Days Away we have a Easter Theme.

Angelic Musing

Today I wanted to show you what I have made using one of Little Musings New Rubber Stamps, they are beautiful and although I like to dress my cards I find these Angels speak for themeselves so I dont need to pop lots of embellishments and papers on if I dont want to.

The image has been coloured with Pro markers and then distress inks have been used around the card and the image which has been cut out using nessties.

The sentiment was created on the computer and then I added a bit of distress ink to the edges so it didn't stand out too bright and white on the card.

Needle Felting and Fabulous finds Friday

Afternoon all its glorious here, but I feel I have had enough of the sun for one day, we have been to the park and spent most of the day playing so time for some out of sun time.

I thought I would share with you my compeleted needle felted Guinea Pig and some fab finds for this week so here we go.

Here is my compeletd needle felted guinea pig now with eyes and piggy lips!

Outside enjoying this lovely weather, although he looks quite big he is rather small. He is about 1inch long and 1/2 inch wide and very cute!

Now on to this week's fabby finds

I had a little wander down to Marks and Sparks for some chocolate and biscuits and came across their Tins of shortbread to celebrate Wills and Kates wedding. One tin had bunting on and there is a more traditional tin and then there was this one.

They are 4.99 each and they have petticoat shortbread inside so well worth the pennies!

Then my second find for this week are these, well I have had my eye on them for a while and now the sun is out I feel its ok to purchase them and banish my knee high boots to the back of the cupboard.

Arent they cute? They are so comfy! And for £6 from Tesco they are a bargain and very Kath kidston! They also have beige ones with flowers on!

Sew Vintage with Little Musings

This set is a must have for all those of you who love to sew or who know some one that sews and you want to make them some thing special! Its simply gorgeous and I know I will be using it time and time again!!!

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers day to everyone I do hope you have had a fab day, I was treated to breakfast in bed, then cards and pressies including a dvd and chocolate, hubby cooked Sunday lunch for me and my mum (dad and kids too) he did amazingly well and I have a clean kitchen too!!! I have been well and truely pampered.

On friday I had a bit of a treat, at hubby's work they were holding a craft show for knitters, stitchers and a few other crafts inbetween. Hubby gave me some premothers day pocket money and off I went. I spent a whole 2 hours browsing the stalls and chatting about needle felting and wet felting. I watched a few demos and generally had a good ol morning with out kids nagging me or hubby moaning, it was bliss!!!

So what did I return with?

The stamps you can see are the wonderful new stamps from Little Musings that arrived on my doorstep the same day, you can get your hands on some over at little Musings they are stunning and bigger than I imagined from looking at pictures which is brilliant!

I have started needle felting a guinea pig, I think I have finished my first attempt and will have another go but here he is pre eyes and mouth.

The lady I met who sold the wool and needles was lovely and so very helpful, I also learnt a lot about her in the half hour we were stood chatting lol The wool is from her own goats and she has lots of pictures of them they are gorgeous!

Right time to go and sort the children out before they go to bed, can you believe another weekend has passed already! Catch you all next week with some more news and crafts to show.

Busy. Busy Busy

Evening everyone, I have been such a bad blogger this week, No posts at all tut tut. Well I thought I would do a quick catch up of all the things I have been up to.

First I made a notice board as I am in serious need of a place to keep all of my notes instead of all over the desk and tucked away in drawers. So here it is. This is my first attempt so be kind!

I used a gorgeous piece of fabric that I was given as it was a off cut of the larger piece I was purchasing in the shop. I also used buttons and ribbion from the Range. Under the fabric is some wadding and then 2 thick pieces of board. There are many tutorials online on how to make these notice boards.

Then I have been sewing some more piggy bags, Kath Kidston Fabric has been used to make these little cuties and then the rabbit bag which was a one off the rabbits have floppy ears, cute!

And finally I have been making some DT items for Little Musings which will be on show tomorrow and then Craft Your Days Away has a new challenge starting on Saturday so all will be revealed then.

So a busy week so far, I shall be visiting blogs asap.

New Fabric & Forum Swap

Afternoon all, not much to say today I have been stitching this past couple of days as well as doing family things so havent had time to blog. However I have had time to shop! Here are some of the new fabrics I have purchased today and a couple of weeks ago.

And some of the New Tilda Fabric, this range is amazing I grabbed this as they were popping the display up, apparently they haven't even had time to price it up yet! There are some gorgeous tins and ribbons too ooo if only I had the money!

Whilst I am here I must mention a swap that I am taking part in over on the Sparkles Forum, we have named it 'Simple Sewing Swap' All we are doing is making some thing very basic/simple and then sending it to our allocated partner, that's it SIMPLES! You dont have to be a expert at sewing of course we just want it to be fun and easy to take part in, you could make some flower embellishments, bookmarks a bit of cross stitch anything you like, there are a couple of links up on the forum for sites with simple patterns.

Tuesday Is Catch Up Day

Morning all, I am guessing everyone is enjoying the glorious sunshine we have been having this past few days, this spring weather has certainly made such a difference around here.

Today I thought I would show you some more of the scotty/westies that I have been making. These 3 have gone to their new homes already and I was quite sad to see them go.

The felt I used was from the fabulous Felt Fairy I must admit I love it, I have used some old scraps of cheapy felt on other things and it just isn't the same at all.

I was so busy last week with poorly children and lots of other things that I didn't manage to do any DT work but I must tell you about the challenge over at Craft your Days Away. Mothers Day over at Sparkles forum Challenges

Its a brand new fortnight over at Sparkles forum challenges and we have a brand new theme which is all about the MUMs We want to see all your makes (can be anything as we are a multicraft challenge blog) for

Mothers Day.

Here is a step card I made for my mum who loves Westies.

The step card is the first I have ever made and was a bit of a challenge for a first time attempt but I think it came out well.

These are the new pampered pets stamps from Papermania and they are fab! I must admit out of all the stamps they have ever done these are the best so far. The papers are gorgeous too! If you can get hold of a Docrafts magazine this month then there is a free set of diecuts and papers on the front with a sentiment stamp. I am just in the middle of using this set to make up some notelets will show them when I have finished.

The above papers were a freebie from a magazine. Flowers are from various places. Image coloured with Promarkers, Pearl ribbion was from my lovely bloggin budddy Pene. The card is coredinations and Bazzil butterflies are made using a punch. Pearls from another blogging buddy.

Birthday Blog Candy

Hi all well I wanted to offer a little blog candy for my birthday which is on March 3rd but I havent really been that organised enough to put a huge amount together, but I have put together a few things that I hope some of you may like.

I have recently found a few new loves and thought I would make a candy up of them for you so you can maybe try them out for yourself or use them because you love them too! I love the Dotcom gift shop bags and always get great comments about them, I have this strawberry one and one that is red with white spots.

My friend Sarah introduced me to Yankee candles, they are very posh and very nice indeed!

I have just started sewing more things so I have been buying lovely fabrics

Soooo with out further ado here is my little bit of birthday candy to say thank you so much for being fab followers!

So whats in the candy?

We have a Large piece of fabric the design is called Sirpa Cowell

Ribbon red stitched and green gingham, Red sequin ribbon, pearls, daisy ribbon

Some scotty and westie fabric embellishments as I have a westie whom I love!

A Pack of charms crowns etc Perfect if your are working on any keep Calm stuff

A vanilla Yankee Candle - cause they are scrumptious!

Royal Tea with Little Musings

Happy Firday all!!! It has come around so fast and we are already so far into March!!! Anyway its a Friday so that means its Little Musings Day its a bit of a Royal Affair this week with corgi's, tea, union jacks and crowns, this digi set is brilliant especially for invites for street parties or just to add that special touch to your homes on that special day! Oooo and it did occur to me that this would make fab bunting too.

I wanted to make some thing around the Tea theme as there will be lots of tea parties the cup and saucer is where I took my inspiration. I have made some royal Lavender Tea (smellies to sit in your tea cups)

They are soooo easy to make and have worked out well, then I remembered I have seen a tutorial for Tea bags over HERE if you wanted a template to have ago with although a tag shape works perfectly (have a look at some fruity tea bags for inspiration like me)

I laminated the crown and teacup just so it lasts that little bit longer and doesnt warp when sat on the shelf. Make 2 images so that they can be sat how ever and the backs look just as good as the front, you will neeed to flip the image for the tea cup but the crown sits well together.

My late birthday gift

I have been so keen to show you my last birthday pressie, it arrived yesterday and I have now photographed it so you can see. Well you know I am a fan of Leanne Ellis's work some of you may have some of her stamps or may have even purchased some of her recent digi stamps (scroll down for post with links) well my lovely hubby bought me this gorgeous ring!

Thank you so very much Leanne! It will grace the pages of my books very soon after I have shown it to everyone!

OOo and some other fabby news my card which I used one of Leannes digi images for Won over at creative card crew so I am a very lucky girl as I have a $20 spend at Simon Says Stamp

My Birthday gifts and cards

Well I had a fabulous birthday, thank you all for your birthday wishes, cards and message you are all FAB!!!!

Sooooo what did I get??? This is a bit of a picture overload lol but I was very spoilt!

Hubby took me to the Kath Kidston shop I wanted a new smaller KK bag and he bought me this and I wanted some tissues too and I also picked up some fabric

I was also treated to some more fabric and some ribbons and lace oooOOOooo buttons cotton and other bits and bobs too that I am sure your not interested in seeing lol

Hubby has also bought me another present that I will show you when it arrives, Oh and I got me a New phone which is Android that means nothing to me lol but I can play angry birds which has made me happy lol

THEN

I had some wonderful gifts from friends and family

Fab teacups from my mate Anne and the teacup candle at the front from hubby

A sewing basket from my mum and dad with loads of vintage buttons and pins and wow lots that I couldnt even list here. My fab friend Sharon bought me these pegs and this gorgeous heart that has a candle inside and smells LUSH!

A Guinea pig poem book, sign and westie umbrella from my special friend Sue

Pene of scrap my midlife crisis (one of my fav blogs) Sent me one of her gorgeous makes, this bracelet and it is gorgeous!!! FANK YOU PENE (((HUGS)))

My sis in law bought me this fabby set as I wanted the guinea pig stamps in it

And then here is a picture of 'some' of the fabby cards I received

So there we have it, spoilt I think you will agree! I feel very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family!

Black and White at Craft your Days Away Challenge

Its a brand new challenge over at Craft Your Days Away this fortnight and its my turn to choose the theme. Why I chose Black and White I will never really know, I am sure that it had some thing to do with some black and white ribbon I bought from Dot Com Gift Shop.

Sparkles Pink Brown and Blue Challenge.

Morning all its a brand new fortnight over at Sparkles forum Challenges, the theme is

Pink Brown and Blue.

At first I had a bit of a panic as I wasnt sure I could combine all those colours but I finally came up with some thing and I am very pleased with it.

Here is my card.

I have used Coredinations card stock, Papers I cant remember I shall have to go have a look, CC Designs stamp sentiment is a stamp too, ribbon and gems from my stash and she is coloured with pro markers. I used marianne creatables die in my cuttle bug for the shapes.

This fortnight we have a fantastic Prize for the winner which is a £15 spend over at the
